CAAHI Funding

The California Affordable Housing Institute is a 501 (c ) (3) organization that will raise funds through grants and membership fees. In addition, CAAHI will pursue new funding models to finance housing development for people with developmental disabilities throughout the state of California.

The Dept. of Developmental Services awarded CAAHI a grant of $300,000 for a three-year period beginning in January 2005 - June 2008.

Highlights of the grant deliverables

• To develop an interactive and informative website
• Create an (800) Information Hotline
• Develop a statewide training program
• Develop innovative funding strategies to sustain CAAHI and fund future housing developments
• Expand CAAHI membership
• Build a sense of community
• Collect and disseminate "Best Practices" on various housing topics
• Provide technical consultation

From January 2005 - June 2008, CAAHI will provide 9 summits and 5 audio conferences, set up the database driven website, and establish the (800) information hotline.
