History
History of the California Affordable Housing Institute
Since 1997, the California Affordable Housing Coalition has fostered the development of housing options for people with developmental disabilities in California. The primary focus of the group is to advance the development of quality, affordable housing options throughout the State of California. The leadership of the coalition represents the leaders in CA. in the field of housing for people with developmental disabilities. In 2004, the Coalition became a 501 (c)3 and changed the name to the California Affordable Housing Institute (²Institute²). In 2005, CAAHI was awarded a 300K grant from DDS to develop a statewide Resource and Information Center that will become a one-stop resource for affordable housing options for people with developmental disabilities.
