Summit and Conferences

Training and education are key objectives of the California Affordable Housing Institute and therefore, CAAHI will offer several summits and audio conferences to educate about effective, state-of-the-art methods for locating, building and financing affordable housing for people with developmental disabilities.

In partnership with experts in the field, CAAHI will focus the trainings on the following topics:

• Community organizing and planning
• Analysis of community needs
• Financing options for creating affordable housing for persons with developmental disabilities
• Real estate acquisition techniques
• Long-term benefits/consequences of nonprofit housing coalitions
• Information and resources for consumers, parents, service providers, developers, regional centers, nonprofit organizations, housing authorities, Dept. of Developmental Services, funders, and leadership from state and local governments
