365 Days to Move Towards A Permanent Source

You said, I believe in more housing choice and opportunity for all Californians. You said, I believe in a permanent source of funding for the California Housing Trust Fund. You supported the Homes4CA.org campaign. As we begin a new year, we want to thank you one more time and show you what we have done with what you said.

Reading the Numbers
In July 2005, we received the results from our second poll, which tested the viability of several funding sources for the Califor nia Housing Trust Fund with the voting public. Unfortunately, none of the funding sources we hoped the public would endorse polled well enough to move to the initiative qualification stage. With the challenge of raising $2 million to qualify a citizen initiative ballot measure for November 2006 made more daunting in the absence of a single compelling funding source, Housing California and the California Housing Consortium went about looking for another way to sustain affordable housing funding.
